A response to the CLG Committee on the subject of the Community Right to Build and the role this plays in supporting community-led housing in England.
In June 2014, the Communities and Local Government Committee launched an inquiry into the new rights available to communities to give them greater power in meeting local needs.
BSHF’s response to the Committee considers the Community Right to Build – a right designed to support communities to build housing or other assets of community value – and its role in supporting community-led housing in England.
The response draws on discussions held at BSHF’s consultation at Windsor Castle in May 2014 on the subject of scaling up community-led housing.
